Abstract

   Project CBCN is a four-year project funded by the U.S. Department of Education Office of Special Education (OSEP) to:

   • work in the classroom to support postsecondary students who are deaf or hard of hearing;

    • use networked laptop computers with collaborative writing software that allow students and notetakers to take notes simultaneously in real-time;

    • model good notetaking and help build thinking skills necessary for translating classroom lecture and discussion into written text;

    • provide instruction to students about electronic study strategies for use with their notes and course assignments.
